Born in Poland, Tomasz Tomaszewski studied at the Music Academy of Warsaw with Professeur Wronski.

He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Leningrad with Professor Gutnikov and in Freiburg with Professor Marschner. He participated in master classes with Druzhnin, Krysa, Fournier, Liebermann, Hiller and Szerny. Together with the "Polish String Quartet", he has made extensive tours of concerts throughout Europe and Australia. As a soloist of the "Polish Chamber Orchestra", he has performed in various countries. Tomasz won numerous awards at international competitions and was named concertmaster of the Berlin Deutsche Oper Orchestra in 1982, and 1983. He teaches at the University of Arts Berlin and participates in several Master Classes.
